Why the people we meet in the vacation sex scene were reduced in the movie


Believe it or not, Netflix People we meet on vacation could have been much, much sexier.

“I saw the scene as (Director Brett Haley) shot it and it was gorgeous and perfect,” author Emily Henry he said variety in an interview on Friday, January 9. “I feel a little guilty because I went and told all my friends, ‘That’s one of the sexiest sex scenes I’ve ever seen.’ Like, it really was like Titanic-level for me. “When Brett started thinking about cutting it, it was because they had started doing test screenings and people, especially people who weren’t familiar with the books, felt like it was a hard right turn in the movie,” Henry, 34, said on the way out of the reconfigured spicy scene. “Brett brought this to me for the first time and asked me, ‘How important is it to you and your readers to see the sex scene?’ I said, “I think it’s kind of important, in a way, because it’s something that we’re destigmatizing, but ultimately, my view would be that if it doesn’t fit the movie, then it doesn’t work.”

“I think it’s going to be something that varies from adaptation to adaptation,” Henry teased on Friday. “I think that the tone of the different projects will not necessarily be the same People we meet on vacationjust as I don’t think the books are exactly the same tone. I think we’re going to have some sexier sex scenes, and I think we’re going to have some that are more of a classic, traditional fade-to-black rom-com situation.”

None of the other Henry adaptations have yet been cast, and the author does not have a “short list” for her potential leads.
