The police would have recovered the car from Linda Brown, the missing special education teacher who has been missing since Saturday, January 4, her husband revealed to the local media.
Antwon Brown he said Chicago police shared with him that they located his wife’s blue Honda Civic, but did not tell him where the car was found. “The update now is we’ve found the car, so that’s a positive thing,” Brown said, noting the vehicle was not damaged. “We found the car, CPD towed it.”
Chicago police did not respond to requests for confirmation of the car’s location.
Linda, 53, was last seen Saturday leaving her home in Chicago for an acupuncture appointment that her husband said she never showed up for.
“She’s being missed a lot, especially by me,” said the horrified husband. “I’m not eating, I’m not really sleeping, so man, she needs to go home, go home.”
When Brown woke up shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday, Linda had already left for her weekly acupuncture session, he said.
Antwon said he and his wife don’t track each other’s phones. There are no cameras in the front or back of her house, so Brown had no idea when Linda left that morning.
“Please love your family, because I miss mine,” she said.
Linda is a teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School in Bridgeport. The endangered woman is 5 feet tall and weighs between 130 and 140 pounds, according to Chicago police. He has a fair complexion and brown hair with matching eyes. Linda was last seen wearing shiny UGG style boots and a long black coat.
Brown said his wife took her purse, credit cards and car keys. Family members told ABC 7 Chicago it wasn’t like Linda not to keep in constant contact with her husband and sister, which makes them fear the worst.
Linda Brown had reportedly been on medical leave for unspecified mental health issues, but was due to return to Robert Healy Elementary School next week.
“He has a little mental problem and he took a leave of absence from his job to get help for it,” Brown told reporters. “As school got closer, it got worse, like the anxiety, the panic attacks.”
Chicago police said Linda “may require medical attention.”
Erin Kamradtthe principal of the school, sent a note to the families about Linda’s disappearance. “I know news like this can cause a lot of emotion, questions and concern for our school community,” he wrote, urging people who know anything to come forward. “Please know that we are working with the CPS Crisis Management Unit to support our students and staff.”
Chicago Police ask that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Linda Brown contact Area 1 Special Victims Unit detectives at (312) 747-8380. If it’s easier, members of the public who see Linda can also call 911 and report the sighting to local police.
