Data security startup Cyera hits $9B valuation six months after $6B valuation

Data security startup Cyera continues to grow. On Thursday, that is declare Series F funding round of $400 million at a valuation of $9 billion. The New York-based outfit has now raised more than $1.7 billion. This funding comes just six months after the previous $540 million round at $ 6 billion assessment.

The new round was led by a fund managed by Blackstone with participation from existing investors including Accel, Coatue, Lightspeed, Redpoint, Sapphire, Sequoia, and others.

Cyera offered what is called data security posture managementa service that helps companies map where all sensitive data lives in cloud systems and databases, track how employees and applications use it, and identify security vulnerabilities. The rise of AI — which has increased the volume of data companies handle and concerns about data leaks — helped Cyera sign up a fifth of Fortune 500 companies as customers and more than triple revenue last year, the company said, much to the delight of investors.
