Jennifer Lawrence is opening up about her preferences when it comes to filming sex scenes.
Lawrence, 35, explained that she feels “anxiety” before filming new movies during a conversation with Josh Horowitz about his movie die my love at 92NY on Wednesday, January 7, according to people. For this reason, the actress prefers to film the sex scenes first, especially when she and her co-star are strangers.
Lawrence added that she and her die my love to cost Robert Pattinson he did a “naked sex tiger” scene during his first day of shooting.
“It was actually easier that way because Rob and I didn’t know each other, which is a little better, you know?” she continued.

Lawrence compared the situation to scenes with her hunger games to cost Josh Hutcherson. (The pair formed a close bond while working together on the film franchise.)
“Like inside hunger gameslike me and Josh Hutcherson would have to kiss and that’s like… Imagine,” she shared. “You know, it’s weirder and so yeah, it’s preferable to do it with a stranger.”
Lawrence said it was “embarrassing” to film the “tiger” scenes. die my lovewhich involved the No hard feelings star and Pattinson, 39, attack each other like tigers. She and her co-star took “interpretive dance lessons” to make them more comfortable.
“We got to Calgary like three weeks before we started shooting. Rob and I (are) embarrassed really easily, and that was mortifying. He was, I mean, I’m not … a dancer, Rob’s worst dancer,” she joked. “And, and it was like, now she’s blowing like a tree, like it’s so embarrassing. So I think when she said, ‘Yeah, take your clothes off.’ We were like, ‘Okay, at least it’s not performance dance…’
die my lovewhich debuted in theaters in November 2025, stars Lawrence as Grace, a young mother and writer who is “slowly descending into madness.” His increasingly erratic behavior begins to worry his partner, Jackson (Pattinson).
Lawrence revealed before the film’s release that she turned down an intimacy coordinator for her sex scenes with Pattinson because he’s not “perverted.”
“We didn’t have (an intimacy coordinator), or maybe we did, but we really didn’t,” Silver Linings Playbook the star said on the “Las Culturistas” podcast at the time. I felt very safe with Rob. He’s not a pervert and very much in love with (his partner) Suki Waterhouse.”
Lawrence added that she and Pattinson spent a lot of time “talking about our kids and our relationship.” (Lawrence shares son Cy, 3, and a second son born in 2025 with her husband Cooke Maroney. Pattinson, meanwhile, shares a 15-month-old daughter with fiancee Waterhouse, 34.)
“There was never any weird thing like, ‘Do you think I like you?'” he continued. “If there was a bit of that, I’d probably have an intimacy coordinator. A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to fuck them, and then the punishment starts. He wasn’t like that.”
Lawrence also recalled in a Q&A with vulture this being pregnant while filming die my love helped her conquer her insecurities about shooting nude scenes.
“I don’t care about nudity. I’m not sensitive about it,” she said. “I think being pregnant took out a lot of vanity anxiety. Before (filming her 2023 comedy No Hard Feelings), I was dieting and eating no carbs and working out. I was pregnant (for Die My Love). Like, what was I going to do? Not eat? I was working 15 hours a day. I was just tired.”
