believe it or not Jennifer Aniston she is not a natural blonde.
Aniston, 56, opened up about her real hair color while promoting her hair care line, Lolavie. The actress revealed it via Instagram on Tuesday, January 6, which contrary to popular belief, she is actually a brunette.
“Would I ever be a brunette?” Aniston said in the video, repeating someone’s question off-screen. “I’m brunette,” she replied.

“I’m brunette,” Aniston repeated, telling Cox, 61, that her hair was darker than his. “That’s black!”
“It’s not black!” Cox fired. “It’s dark brown.”
How he played with Aniston Cox’s hair on hisshe recalled playing a brunette in 2011 while playing Julia Horrible bosses. “Oh, that’s like the Horrible Bosses character I played,” the star recalled. At the time, Cox said he “loves horrible bosses.”
“You were a bad dentist!” she exclaimed.
“Would I ever be a brunette?” Aniston pondered, returning to the question she was asked. “Yeah. Well, it was, you saw that answer, didn’t you? It worked? That she was a natural brunette? That’s fake,” she said, pointing to her famously highlighted mane and laughing.
“Blondes *reeeaaalllyyy* have more fun? 🤔🤷🏼♀️❤️ @lolavie,” Aniston captioned the post. Her fans shared their thoughts in the comments section.
“Rachel and Monica debating hair in 2026, as they should be,” said one, referring to her and Cox’s friends’ characters. Another added: “Jen’s hair isn’t just hair, it’s a lifestyle! 💖.” A third wrote: “Jen’s hair has it’s own fan club and YES I’m a member! 💫🫧.”
Aniston’s famous honey blonde hair has long been a topic of conversation. In 1994, she sported a choppy bob, which became known as “The Rachel.” Created by Chris McMillanAniston confessed that she wasn’t actually a fan of the look because of how difficult it was to style.
“I cut my hair and I was like, ‘Wow, this is amazing,'” she said InStyle in 2018. “And then I was totally left with this frizzy mop on my head, because I had no idea how to do what he did.”

After living with the hairstyle for so long, Aniston grew her hair out with the intention of having it an easy cut to style. “Now I apply Living Proof Prime Style Extender and let it dry naturally for about an hour,” she said. “Once it’s semi-dry, I use low heat around the hairline and twist the strands with my fingers to get the pencils out. It’s done in 10 minutes.”
