Woroniecki publicly denied involvement in the murders of Andrea and Rusty’s children during a 2002 appearance at Good morning America. However, he admitted that he had served as a spiritual leader for Andrea and Rusty and said he “shared Jesus with them.”

Andrea was initially convicted of capital murder in 2002 and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after forty years. However, the verdict was later overturned on appeal after it was revealed that forensic psychiatrist Park Dietz had given false testimony.

The case was retried in 2006, with a Texas jury finding Yates not guilty by reason of insanity.

Where does Andrea Yates live today?

Since Andrea was found not guilty by reason of insanity, it seems she has been focusing on her mental health.

Andrea currently lives at Kerrville State Hospital in Kerrville, Texas, and has been since 2007, according to people.

According to the hospital website“Kerrville State Hospital serves individuals who have been acquitted of a criminal offense and have been committed by a court to receive inpatient mental health services.”

He has had the opportunity to have his status reviewed for possible release each year, but has reportedly waived the right to do so multiple times, and with good reason.

“It’s where he wants to be. Where he needs to be,” Andrea’s former lawyer, George Parnhamhe said ABC News in June 2021. “And I mean, hypothetically, where would I go? What would I do?”

Five years earlier, Parnham said NBC news in September 2016 that Andrea was doing “remarkably well” and had no interest in leaving the hospital. “She has excellent attention,” he said. “In the hospital where he is, there are no wires, no bars, no armed guards, no fences.”
