Khloe Kardashian explains when the Kardashians go public with romances


Khloé Kardashian he is in favor of his sisters keeping their romantic relationships private.

“How does your family decide when information is public versus private? For example, in a new relationship, what decisions do they make about where and when to announce?” Kardashian, 41, read a fan’s question on the Wednesday, Jan. 7 episode of “Khloé in Wonderland” podcast “That’s a great question.”

Kardashian explained that she’s not sure if there’s any “real method to the madness” when it comes to being in the spotlight.

“None of us are really sitting around going, ‘Oh, in three weeks we should talk about (how) I’m dating this person.’ That doesn’t happen. I think you just know when you’re dating someone, if you’re just dating and you know it’s not going anywhere, you’re casually dating someone,” Kardashian shared. “But if you’re in a real relationship, where you’re in love, you might want to be more public with that person.”

She continued, “I don’t think you can compare any of the relationships. Like, everybody just has to be an individual thought process, I guess, about when you would want to go public with somebody or not. But, I don’t know.”

Kardashian, to whom she was previously married Lamar Odom and had a long another relationship, another time with now-ex Tristan Thompsonhe reflected on his own past experiences without naming names. (Kardashian shares daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 3, with Thompson, 34.)

“Me, personally, from my past experiences, the longer you can keep something private, I think the more chances there are for that relationship. But also, you can be dating someone and say, ‘I’m just sleeping with this person. I don’t make it public at all.’ You can sleep with them for two years and you never want to make it public. You just have to know the energy of that relationship.”

Kardashian’s comments come days after Sis Kylie Jenner made headlines for publicly supporting the groom Timothée Chalamet at the Critics Choice Awards 2026. At the awards show, Chalamet, 30, accepted a trophy for his role Martí Suprem — i he gave a rare cry in public to Jenner, 28 years old.

“Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she said at the event on Sunday, January 4, as cameras panned to a smiling Jenner.

Kardashian, meanwhile, has gone through “a lot of therapy” and “self-reflection” following her public relationship.

“Like, ‘Why do I keep picking on these people?'” she explained exclusively Us Weekly in 2025 of his reflection on his dating history. “And now I feel like I’m very strong, and I pray that I can identify certain red flags or certain things that I don’t want to receive anymore. And I think you’d have to be very special to alter my current lifestyle and my schedule and how I prioritize my time, and even make me feel those butterflies. I think I’m a pretty watchful and persistent person right now.”
