Ashley Tisdale’s husband shares cryptic message amid mommy drama


Ashley Tisdale Frenchthe husband of Christopher Frenchis apparently addressing where he stands amid his wife’s recent mom group drama.

The songwriter, 44, took to his Instagram story on Tuesday, January 6, to repost a graphic by artist Tyler Spangler, which was originally uploaded in November 2025.

“It is your choice whether or not you want to participate,” the quote read.

While the context of Christopher’s post is unclear, he followed up with several Instagram stories that referenced the 2021 uprising at the US Capitol in Washington, DC.

The cryptic upload came shortly after Ashley, 40, opened up leaving behind a “toxic” group of mom friends in an essay written for The Cut earlier this month.

In the now viral article, the Musical Baccalaureate The star reflected on feeling at home with a circle of moms she started spending time with later welcoming their first baby with Christopher in 2021. (The couple share daughters Jupiter, 4, and Emerson, 15 months).

Later, though, Ashley wondered if it really fit. “I remember being left out of a couple of group uploads, and I knew them because Instagram made sure to feed me every Instagram photo and story,” she wrote. “I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing all the ways they seemed to exclude me… I told myself it was all in my head, and it wasn’t a big deal. Still, I could feel a growing distance between me and the other members of the group, who didn’t seem to care that I wasn’t around much.”

When another group outing was held without her, Ashley texted her friends saying, “This is too bachelor for me and I don’t want to be a part of it anymore,” which “didn’t exactly sit well” with the other women.

“Some others tried to smooth things over,” the actress recalled. “One sent flowers, then ignored me when I thanked her. . . . To be clear, I’ve never considered moms to be bad people. (Maybe one.) But I think our group dynamic stopped being healthy and positive, for me, anyway.”

After Ashley shared her story, theories began to circulate on social media group of mothers in question may have included Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore i Meghan Trainoramong others. A rep for Ashley shut down the speculation to TMZ, saying the essay was intended to highlight the relatable experience of distancing herself from a group of friends.

The drama didn’t end there, though. Duff’s husband, Matthew Butshared his own version of Ashley’s essay via her Instagram story on Tuesday.

“A group of mothers tell it all through the eyes of a father,” the fake article read. “When you’re the most obsessed deaf person on earth, other moms tend to focus on their little ones.”

Koma, 38, included a photo of herself and Duff, also 38, posing together on a couch. “Read my new interview with @thecut,” she wrote.

The charge has since disappeared and Duff has not addressed Ashley’s trial herself.
