At CES 2026, AMC debuted a clip from its upcoming TV series “The Audacity,” created by Jonathan Glatzer, a TV writer and producer for shows like “Succession,” “Better Call Saul,” and “Bloodline.” The new show will focus on how the men and women of Silicon Valley shaped the world we live in today.
“They literally put cement on the highway that we all drive like AI, data collection, social media, etc. And there is no more important group, in my opinion, that needs to be looked at more deeply than the men and women in Silicon Valley who shape the lives we lead,” explained Dan McDermott, head of content at AMC Studios Variety and president of AMC Variety.
As one of the show’s actors, Billy Magnussen, notes, “Silicon Valley is one of those moments in modern times that defines humanity.
The show will also star Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Simon Helberg, and Rob Corddry and will take place in a fictional world where no real company names are involved, and high-tech figures will also make cameos. However, the show may still strike some familiar chords. For example, Helberg’s character is a misfit genius, working on an AI therapy application for teenagers, while he himself is a hermit, with a teenage girl he ignores.
“There is loneliness, I think, in the heart of all the characters, and they all try to connect, and they try to connect through technology, which has some pitfalls,” says Helberg.
Two new clips from the show were streamed on the show, but no recordings were allowed. In one, an enthusiastic Magnussen invites Galifianakis to meet him for dinner at a restaurant. Galifianakis did not respond but was eventually cut off by stabbing his hand with a fork. Another clip shows Helberg not having a chance to talk to his daughter, and using disturbing facial expressions to train the AI.
The show airs Sunday, April 12 on AMC and AMC+.
