WhatsApp on Wednesday said it is rolling out new features for group chats, including member tags, text stickers, and event reminders.
With member tags, you can choose a name that gives more context in group chats about who you are and your role. For example, you can be “Anna’s Dad” in one group, and “Goalkeeper” in another group.
For text stickers, you can turn any word into a sticker by entering text into the Sticker Search. You can also add these newly created stickers directly to your sticker pack without sending them in chat.
Event reminders allow you to set custom reminders for invitees when creating and posting events in group chats.
These new features come as WhatsApp continues to improve group chats with capabilities like sharing large files up to 2GB, sending HD media, screen sharing, voice chat, and more.
