influencer Haley Kalil (aka Hayley Baylee) is opening up about her experience with domestic violence and how her social media presence helped her escape an abusive ex.
“I’ve dealt, of course, like any girl, with a lot of emotional abuse in relationships, cheating, all that stuff. But no, one of my exes was physically abusive,” Kalil, 33, said during the Tuesday, Jan. 6, episode. Amanda Hirsch“Not Skinny but Not Fat” podcast, revealing she was in an abusive relationship when she posted her first viral TikTok video, a tour of New York City apartments, in 2022.
“That’s what was going on during the apartment tour,” he continued, “And that’s why, in my first (‘Billionaire Boyfriend’ video), I have a cast on my wrist because yes, domestic violence.” (Kalil’s apartment tour inspired her to do a fictional POV series where she pretended to be a billionaire’s stay-at-home girlfriend.)
Kalil said she eventually ended up filing domestic violence charges against her ex, who she did not name on the podcast.
“And we’re fine. I mean, he’s not back in my life. I’m so thankful for that,” she said. “I hope, I sincerely hope, and I say this sincerely, that I hope that the success that I’ve had after this, that he sees that, because he had a real hatred, I think, for women, just from his past (and) that he sees that he should treat women better because we are capable of so much more than he ever thought we were.”
Kalil called the relationship a “tough time” in her life and said she credits the women in the comment sections of her videos with helping her get the courage to leave her ex.
“I credit them with saving my life. Completely and utterly. Because I never felt seen by women,” she said, adding that kind comments from fans led her to “remove a man from my life who was doing horrible things to me.”

Haley’s apartment tour video came shortly after her divorce from ex-husband Matt Kalilwhich ended in 2022. However, the social media personality has made it clear to fans that she is not referring to Matt, 36, in her videos about toxic exes or domestic violence.
“We were married for seven years, and he’s still one of my closest friends,” she said during a June 2024 episode of the “Post Run High” podcast. “Love him to death. He’s got a baby (and I’m) so happy for him.” (After his divorce from Haley, Matt married the model Keilani Asmus in 2024. The couple share one child.)
In November 2025, Haley explained why she ended her marriage to the former NFL player, making headlines for being NSFW: the size of his manhood.
“(This happened) our whole marriage,” she said during a Twitch live stream. “I was going to try everything — therapists, doctors (and I) went for lipo-type crap, you know what I mean? That’s why it’s kind of funny. It’s like my life is a comedy and it writes itself.”
Haley continued, “It was, like, he’s 0.01 percent of the population. We tried everything (and it was) impossible unless you’re crying.”
The TikToker later clarified that there was more to his divorce than problems in his sex life.
“It’s very important to me to respect her privacy and the integrity of what we shared together,” he told TMZ Sports in a statement. “During (my) live broadcast, (I) talked about so much more than what’s being highlighted: the love in our marriage, the growth we’ve experienced, the depth of our connection.”
Haley continued, “It’s a shame that only a snippet is amplified because it doesn’t capture the full story of how meaningful things were to me. I hope (the) hour and a half conversation reflects more than just a fun bite.”
