Kidman had a brief fling with Kidman Marcus Graham before starting to go out Tom Cruise after quickly hitting the set of the 1990 film days apart. The couple married later that year and adopted two children together: Isabella and Connor in 1992 and 1995, respectively.
After 11 years of marriage, Cruise and Kidman called it quits in 2001.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were “working” on their marriage years before they split, according to the Oscar-winning actress. In September 2025, a source confirmed Us Weekly this Kidman and Urban had broken up after almost two decades of marriage. Their divorce was finally finished in January 2026.

Tom Burlinson
The couple met on the set of the 1986 romantic comedy Windrider. Kidman and Burlinson dated for three years before calling it quits.
“Nicole Kidman and I did a movie, Windriderin 1986 and dated for three years. I was 11 years older and it was her first relationship with a man as an adult,” Burlinson said Sydney Morning Herald in February 2020. “We had happy times, but she had her own way to go in life. One thing that has been written about us, which is incorrect, is that I asked her to marry me and she said no.”
Marcus Graham
After her split from Burlinson, Kidman dated Graham in the 1980s before she eventually left him to date Cruise.
“I have nothing bad to say about Nicole,” Graham said in a July 2023 interview with women’s day. “We were both in our 20s and I was young and ambitious. A brilliant, gorgeous, talented actress meets the big Hollywood movie star and says, ‘Come with me.’ I think you’re like, ‘Go, are you crazy?’ It must have been wonderful for her.”
Graham noted that he was “devastated and heartbroken” at the time, but holds no hard feelings toward Kidman.
“That’s just the way it is, isn’t it? Why would I want to keep her in Australia and lock her out?!” he said to the dam. “I don’t have bad feelings there and I understand that. I cried for a long time at the time. I was very hurt and confused, but I had a lot to learn about the world.”
Tom Cruise
The Top Gun the actor and Kidman had an instant connection after meeting on the set of days apart in 1990. They had a whirlwind romance and married on New Year’s Eve in 1990 before adopting daughter Isabella in 1992 and son Connor in 1995. The two split in 2001 after 11 years of marriage.
“I was willing to give it all up,” Kidman said Vanity Fair in November 2002 after Cruise filed for divorce. “Now I see it as part of me. I’m willing to do it, I do it when I make a movie. I’m willing to say, ‘Yeah, take it, consume me, intoxicate me.’
Lenny Kravitz
After her split from Cruise, Kidman began dating the musician in 2003. The couple secretly got engaged that year before splitting in 2004.
“I knew it Zoe (Kravitz) because he was engaged to his father,” Kidman told the Little Big Lies press tour in 2017 when asked about his relationship with Zoë. “It’s all in the family! I love Lenny; he’s a great guy.”
Almost a year later, Lenny noted that it was “interesting” that Zoë and Kidman broke up Little Big Lies after meeting so long ago while Lenny and Kidman were dating.
“It was nice that they met as adults and did this big show together. Some things just don’t work out… the wonderful thing is that we’re all friends,” she said in an episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in 2018.
Keith Urban
Kidman and the country singer met at the G’Day USA Gala in 2005. Although Urban waited a few months before calling Kidman out, the two finally tied the knot in 2006. They welcomed daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret in 2008 and 2011, respectively.
“I met him later in life and he’s been the best thing that ever happened to me,” Kidman said during one CBS Mornings interview in January 2022. “This man is the best thing that has ever happened to me. We are a mix. We are very suitable (for each other). I am incredibly lucky to have met him.”
After nearly two decades of marriage, a source confirmed we in September 2025 that Urban and Kidman had separated.
Court documents obtained by we stated that the duo finalized their separation in January 2026. Neither party will pay alimony or spousal support, according to the filing.
