The Baltimore Ravens may have been the victims of a supernatural kick thanks to the help of a Catholic priest at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
Football fans saw the Pittsburgh Steelers secure a spot in the NFL playoffs when Tyler Loop of the Ravens was lost what would have been a game-winning field goal as time expired during the game on Sunday, Jan. 4. But what if Loop’s failure and the Steelers’ 26-24 victory were determined hours before the players hit the field?
After the game, a video surfaced online of a priest blessing the end zone at Acrisure Stadium with holy water in the early evening. It was the same end zone where Loop’s attempt sailed right.
The Steelers needed all the help they could get, both mortal and divine. The contest was the de facto championship game of the AFC North, and had Baltimore won, they would have headed to the playoffs as division champions over Pittsburgh.

“Pittsburgh’s Catholic community is very strong and its ties to the Steelers are everywhere,” the station said. Mike Tirico he said “And in that end zone, Tyler Loop misses the field goal and gives the Steelers the win.”
Loop, 24, spoke to the media after the game where he looked more technical explanation for his lack
“The operation was fantastic,” he said. “It was a great situation, exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately, I just hit the ball. We call it hitting it thin. It turns fast and goes right. That was it.”
He added: “I went back there and looked at the game clock. I saw 22 seconds. I took my steps. I took the relay. I visualized what the ball looks like when it’s held. Jordan (Stout) he took his fingers, and that was my signal to go. As for The Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgerswho signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh in the offseason and could be playing his final NFL season, was able to reflect on the team’s rocky 10-7 season with a smile.
“We haven’t had it easy, really all season, I guess,” Rodgers, 42, said, per ESPN. “But I’m proud of our guys. I’m proud of the way we responded multiple times after they took the lead. It just takes a little bit of belief at this point in the season.”
The Steelers will begin their playoff run against the Houston Texans at home on Monday, January 12th.
