The Kennedy family gathered to pay their respects to the family member Tatiana Schlossberg.
A service for Tatiana, who was the daughter of Caroline Kennedy i Edwin Schlossbergwas held at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church on the Upper East Side of New York City on Monday, January 5, by people. The ceremony was private and police blocked off the streets surrounding the church.
The outlet reported that several members of the Kennedy family were present, including extended family Kerry Kennedy i Joe Kennedy III. Tatiana’s husband, Jordi Moranand their two children, Edwin, 3, and Josephine, 19 months, also attended.
Former night host David Letterman i Carolina Herrerawho designed Tatiana’s wedding dress, was also seen entering the church.
Tatiana died before the new year after a battle with cancer. She was 35 years old.
“Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts,” the JFK Library Foundation shared on December 30, 2025, in a statement via Instagram signed by her husband, children, parents, siblings, Jack and Rose Schlossberg and sister-in-law Rory Schlossberg.
Tatiana revealed in a November 2025 essay for The New Yorker that she had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia a year earlier.
“I couldn’t believe, couldn’t, that they were talking about me. I swam a mile in the pool the day before, nine months pregnant. I wasn’t sick. I didn’t feel sick. I was actually one of the healthiest people I knew,” she wrote. “I had a son that I loved more than anything and a newborn that I had to take care of.”

After giving birth to Josephine, Tatiana underwent a bone marrow transplant at Memorial Sloan Kettering and received chemotherapy treatments. He also did a CAR-T cell therapy clinical trial before learning his cancer was terminal.
Tatiana reflected on how much she struggled with knowing that her time with her children was limited.
“My first thought was that my children, whose faces live permanently inside my eyelids, would not remember me,” she wrote in the essay. “My son may have a few memories, but he’ll probably start confusing them with images he sees or stories he hears. I was never able to take care of my daughter, I couldn’t change her diaper, or bathe her, or feed her, all because of the risk of infection after the transplants. I was away for almost half of her first year of life and she doesn’t know who I am, she doesn’t really know who I am, she doesn’t know who I am. or remember, when I’m gone, that I am his mother”.
Several members of the Kennedy family paid tribute to Tatiana after her death. Mary Shriverwho is the daughter of John F. Kennedythe sister of Eunice Kennedy, shared a statement through social media after the death of his cousin.
“Can’t make sense of it. Can’t find any sense. None. Zero,” Shriver wrote on Instagram. “Tatiana was a great journalist and used her words to educate others about the earth and how to save it. She created a beautiful life with her extraordinary husband George and children Eddie and Josie. She fought like a warrior. She was brave, strong (and) brave.”
Monday, the Kennedy family shared a new photo with Tatiana following in his footsteps.
“As we remember Tatiana and celebrate her life, our hearts go out to her family and all who loved her,” read the caption of an Instagram post shared by the JFK Library Foundation.
