Bristol Palin shares update on facial paralysis after 300 days


Bristol Palin has been struggling with it mysterious facial paralysis for a whole year.

“If anyone is wondering, today is the 323rd day my face is paralyzed,” Palin, 35, said in a video taken last month that she posted to her Instagram stories on Saturday, January 3. “It doesn’t look great.”

She continued, “That’s what it looks like. There’s not much movement.”

According to Palin, she plans to “eventually” get Botox in one of her eyes as a result.

“It gets so small when I smile or when I’m expressive,” Palin explained. “It’ll be a year in January, it could be worse, it could be better. At least I have a nice pair of sunglasses.”

Palin revealed in January 2025 half of his face was paralyzed.

“I woke up nine days ago with a little weird feeling in my face,” he said in a social media video at the time. “My mouth was pulling this way and it felt a little bad. So I went and looked in the mirror. I was like, ‘Wow, that looks a little weird.’

A few hours later, the teenage mother Alum noticed that the left side of his face was “numb and just paralyzed.”

“I couldn’t really blink, I definitely had no movement on the side of my face,” she recalled. “So crazy. (I) went to the doctor. They did tests, they did a CT scan (and) they put me on steroids, they put me on other drugs. Nothing came back with all the results. They think it’s just a case of Bell’s palsy, maybe brought on by stress or lack of sleep.”

He then added: “I’m not sure. There’s nothing he was really stressed about, but I think it was brought on by stress.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, Bell’s palsy is a temporary condition that causes sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face.

“I’m finally starting to get some feeling back. It’s been, like, a little sore the last couple of days, which is a sign (and a) good indication that it’s getting better, so praise the Lord,” he said. “This has been wild. Also, if you know anyone with any of these symptoms, I would recommend using more Eastern (route) medicine. I’ve been doing acupuncture several times and it’s helped speed up the recovery process tremendously.”

A few months later, Palin revealed in another social media update that she was “handling (the situation) well.”

“I can’t look at pictures of myself,” she said in July 2025, adding that her face is “probably 70 percent back to normality … I woke up and I was paralyzed, completely uncovered. without warning (I) wasn’t sick, I didn’t get the v@x, I didn’t get recent Botox. Just paralyzed.”

Palin does not yet have a definitive diagnosis.

“Black boots, black long sleeve, same denim shirt I wear all the time, vintage Louis Vuitton,” she. captioned an Instagram photo from November 2025 of her dress, and jokingly added: “And still a crooked face.”
