Jamie Chung i Bryan Greenberg have been in a rebuilding phase during the year since devastating wildfires in Los Angeles they destroyed his house.
“It’s been almost a year since the Eaton fires destroyed everything,” Chung, 42, wrote via Instagram on Friday, January 2. “Immediately after the fires, my sanity, general well-being and relationships were tested. It almost broke me. I didn’t have the energy to start over.”
Chung and her husband Greenberg, 47, they lost their home in the fires that swept through Los Angeles in January 2025, they devastated thousands of acres of land and killed hundreds.
“I thought all hope was lost until @sacha.streg introduced me to the dream team, Cleo and McShane at @studiomurnane. They helped us carefully redesign the very house I spent the previous three years remodeling,” Chung explained. “We were lucky enough to walk the new plans today thanks to @walkyourplansla.”
According to Chung, she and Greenberg were able to “make adjustments and take notes” before construction began and the couple’s twin children “were able to see their rooms.” (The two actors they took in their children via surrogate in 2021 and never publicly shared their names.)
“We don’t know all the future challenges this project will pose,” the actress concluded with her climb. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has held our hands throughout this incredibly emotional journey. To our friends, family, home and real estate experts, architects, past fire victims who spent hours on the phone with us, and the community of Altadena and Palisade who have been the glue.”
Chung and Greenberg, along with their 4-year-old sons, were able to see a digital rendering of the design plans before entering the property under construction to see the house framed.
Chung and the Dresses: LA Alum were initially able to evacuate the Los Angeles city limits when the fires broke out.
“Thank you to all of our brave firefighters and first responders,” Chung wrote Instagram last year “If you are in red alert areas, have your bags ready to go. Safety first. Praying for all the families affected by the fires.”
Within days, Greenberg announced via Instagram that his family’s home had been destroyed by fire.
“It was supposed to be our forever home, but nothing lasts forever,” Greenberg subtitled images of the rune. “Luckily, our family is safe, but other victims of the LA fires are not so lucky. Please donate if you can.”
Chung and Greenberg have been together since 2012 and married three years later in 2015.
“What I like about Bryan is that he understands the business, but we’re also there to support each other. It’s not a competition,” Chung. explained exclusively Us Weekly in December 2024 before their tenth wedding anniversary. “We love each other so much and it’s amazing. I love being married to him.”
He then added: “We grow every day. We are different people every day and I think the most important thing is to fill each other’s emotional cup, try to listen to each other and show empathy and try (to be) understanding.”
