Meghan McCain and her husband, Ben Domènechthey are officially parents of three.
“Everybody is happy, healthy and exhausted,” McCain, 41, said people on Saturday, January 3, confirming that the couple welcomed their third baby. “We are absolutely thrilled that our boy is here.”
McCain gave birth to son Ransom by caesarean section on Friday, January 2.
“We are so grateful to the amazing doctors and medical staff who took such wonderful care of us,” the mother of three told the network. “Liberty and Clover are so excited to have a little brother. Our family is so blessed.”
the first to see cohost and Domènech tied the knot in November 2017 and welcome freedom daughters i clover September 2020 and January 2023, respectively.
McCain announced her third pregnancy on his “Citizen McCain” podcast in June 2025, sharing the news with the second lady Usha Vance.
“I hope you don’t mind. I wanted to let you talk about something that’s private that I haven’t talked about publicly yet,” McCain said at the time. “I have two girls. They’re almost 5 and almost 3. And I just entered my second trimester, I’m pregnant with my third.”
McCain joked that it was “a weird way to announce” the expansion of his family before revealing the gender of his third baby.
“It’s a boy,” she confirmed. “I’m really nervous about having a boy. And I’m really nervous about having three kids. A lot.”
The following month, McCain spoke of Domenech’s support during her pregnancy.
“Thank you to my husband for taking such good care of our family, helping to satisfy all my pregnancy cravings for Topo Chico, pineapple and steak, and literally taking care of everything my morning sickness and fatigue left me with, all while juggling your three demanding jobs,” she wrote via Instagram in July 2025. “To pack all our lunches and snacks and take us to all the holes in Sedona because all our girls want to do is swim in creeks all day. And of course, to read our girls the best bedtime stories every night to help them fall asleep.”
She added: “I read a line (recently) that said, ‘How do you do it all?’ Well, I didn’t marry a loser at all.” 😆.”
McCain then called out the naysayers who doubted the longevity of his relationship with Domenech from the beginning.
“I love you Ben,” she pointed out. “Ten years and three kids, shout (sic) to every moron on Twitter who said we wouldn’t last six months. Jokes (sic) on you.”
Although Meghan’s late father, John McCain, died in 2018 before becoming a mother, she opened up in 2022 about how her eldest daughter, Liberty, takes on the politician.
“(Liberty) does this with her hands, and (my dad) did it all the time. I don’t. I don’t know where it comes from, but she does it even now,” she explained during an episode of the “Me Becoming Mom” podcast. “I told my mother-in-law that it scares me when she does it because it’s this tic my dad used to do with his hands.”
