Kody Brown he has a heart to heart with the woman Robyn Brown in the latest episode of Sister Wivesconfessing that he might have neglected her in the midst of his three failed marriages.
“I have to stop the self-deprecation. As far as you and I are concerned,” Kody, 56, tells Robyn, 47, in Us WeeklyThe exclusive sneak peek of Sunday, January 4’s episode after he wraps up his ex-wives apology tour.
“The only thing I’ve walked away from is when you’re emotionally insecure,” Robyn replies, seemingly agreeing with Kody’s new approach to their marriage. “That’s it.”
Kody notes that “some of the things I’ve been doing recently might help him” be more present with Robyn, referring to his reunions with ex Mary Brown, Janelle Brown i Christine Brown following their respective divisions.
After pausing, Kody turns to Robyn and actually sees her. “Thank you for being loyal,” she says in an emotional moment between the pair.
“Well, you deserve it. You earned it from me, love. I’m right here,” Robyn reassure your spousewhom he legally married in 2014 then spiritually tie the knot four years earlier.
Kody acknowledges that Robyn has always had his back, realizing almost in the moment that she never told him what that meant as she struggled with their breakups.
“It has not been very fair. I haven’t been very fair to you“, he confesses. “I’ve been apologizing to everyone. Despite how brutal they were. I apologized to them.”
Kody admits, “But you were never brutal. You’re never cruel. You’re never disloyal. I’ve been apologizing to everybody. I think I owe you an apology most of all.”
As Robyn accepts Kody’s heartfelt apology, she continues to process his recent actions in a confessional interview.
“Holy cow, I’ve apologized to everyone but you,” he tells Robyn’s cameras, calling her “the woman who has been so supportive through all my BS, all my weakness, all my anger, all my rants and rants and whining.”
How Sister Wives Fans have learned in recent years that Kody’s plural family began to fall apart one woman at a time from 2021.
His third wife Christine, 53, announced in November 2021 that she and Kody had called it quits after more than 25 years together. Her choice to leave him and the large polygamous family began a ripple effect.
His second wife Janelle, 56, followed suit, announcing her split from Kody in December 2022 after nearly 30 years of marriage.
Kody’s first wife Meri, to whom he was legally married from 1990 to 2014 and to whom he remained spiritually married for nearly another decade, confirmed in January 2023 that she and Kody had also separated.
With each breakup, Kody grew a little more distant with his wife, Robyn, but she remained committed to him and her life, no matter what. now a monogamist.
During season 20 of Sister WivesCody he traveled to see all his exes to apologize for how things ended and the negative comments he made about them during that dark time. Back in Arizona, where he and Robyn live, he tells the cameras he’s found some peace.
“I mean almost, like a phoenix metaphor,” Kody says of his journey we‘ preview of this week’s episode. “This life we had before has kind of burned. I’m like (not) burning it all to forget it. I want to remember it and love it and move forward with the lessons I’ve learned from it in a relationship that’s very beautiful, very safe, very complete.”
Robyn, meanwhile, tells the cameras that she’s happy with the positive changes she’s seen in Kody since finding closure.
“I think taking responsibility for her part in the marriages that broke up, I think that was something that gave her some peace and help in her healing,” she says in the clip. “But then I also see him breathing a sigh of relief. Like, ‘OK, I took responsibility for my part.'”
