Gel-T i Coco Austin have stood the test of time as a celebrity couple since meeting in 2001.
The two connected on a video set that year and have been going strong ever since. The “I’m Your Pusher” rapper recalled the meeting during a 2017 Mario López: One against one interview
“(I asked), ‘Would you ever consider dating a gangster rapper?'” Ice-T recalled. “The reason I said that Mario is because he was wearing a red snake skin suit.”
Austin revealed that she “didn’t know what a gangster rapper was” based on being a “white girl from the valley,” so she responded, “Oh, well, if she’s nice.”
The Law and order: Special Victims Unit The star quickly hit back, replying: “Well baby, if you take the ‘n’ out of ‘good’ you get ‘Ice’.”
The pickup line worked when the duo began dating long distance: Ice-T was in New York law and order, while Austin was working in California as a model. The couple’s romance progressed quickly and they married on New Year’s Eve in 2001. Us Weekly later confirmed that the couple did not legally marry until January 2006 in Nevada, according to court documents.
The couple continued Welcome to your daughter, Chanelin 2015, and have remained committed to their relationship for over 25 years.
