Amy Schumer her now estranged husband gave her, Chris Fischera shoutout on social media before announcing their split.
“Just found this from years ago beautiful. My truest self. Digg it Chris,” Schumer, 44, captioned on Friday, Dec. 12. Instagram video of her endometriosis surgery in 2021. “I’ve been through a lot with endometriosis. Tell someone you love that they shouldn’t have excruciating periods. @endofound woman with me today.”
In the throwback footage, Fischer, now 45, filmed Schumer after she woke up from anesthesia.
“Let’s sit at the bar, have a couple of drinks,” she toasted, apparently asleep. “We’re just having a blast.”
Schumer confirmed their divorce from Fischer more than an hour later.
“Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son,” read a second post on Friday. “We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.”
The train wreck The actress stressed that the couple’s breakup had nothing to do with her recent wellness transformation.
“Blah blah blah (this is) not because I’ve dropped a few pounds and thought I could take the basket,” Schumer wrote, referring to her recent weight loss. “And (it’s not) because he’s a James Beard Award-winning chef who can still throw some hot tail.”
Schumer explained that her breakup with Fischer was “amicable.”
“All love and respect,” he concluded. “The family forever.”
Schumer and Fischer began dating in 2017, tying the knot less than a year later.
“It was a very quiet wedding. It was arranged at the last minute,” a source said explained exclusively Us Weekly in February 2018. “Most of the guests found out the wedding was on Tuesday from a text message Amy sent on Sunday. It was like, ‘Hey, this is happening.’ If you can do it, great. If not, don’t worry.” People came in and out all night. It was a beautiful day. Everyone had a good time.”
The comedian and Fischer expanded their family and welcomed son Gene in May 2019. Two years later, Schumer had her uterus removed after being diagnosed with endometriosis. (According to the Mayo Clinic, endometriosis is an often painful condition where uterine tissue grows outside the uterus.)
“It’s the morning after my endometriosis surgery and my uterus is out,” she said in an Instagram video from 2021 after your procedure. “The doctor found 30 spots of endometriosis which he removed. He removed my appendix because the endometriosis had attacked it.”
Schumer continued at the time: “There was a lot, a lot of blood in my uterus and I’m, you know, sore and I have some, like, gas. But other than that, I already feel like my energy is (back).”
After Schumer’s recovery, she even kept a memento from the surgery.
“Jason (Bateman) asked me once, very rudely, because I actually had my uterus removed and he said, ‘Did you keep it?’ And I was like, ‘I actually saved it,'” Schumer said in a 2024 episode. from the “Smartless” podcast.detailing her hysterectomy. “I had it tanned, you know, because of how difficult my pregnancy was.”
