Joint Syrian-American patrol attacked near Palmyra: state media | Syria’s war news

Syrian security forces and United States forces exchanged fire during a joint field patrol near Palmyra in the central Homs region, injuring two Syrian personnel and several American soldiers, the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) state news agency reported.

The gunman involved in the incident on Saturday was killed, without further details on the motive or circumstances, SANA reported.

The agency said traffic on the Deir Ezzor-Damascus highway was temporarily halted after military aircraft overflighted the area.

A security source told SANA that American helicopters moved the wounded to al-Tanf base.
