Just 31 percent of American adults approve of the way President Donald Trump is handling the economy, down from 40 percent in March, according to a new AP-NORC poll — the lowest economic approval rating he’s seen in either term. SUNY-Empire State University history professor Ian Reifovitz said Trump is now “significantly underwater” and his party is also struggling, with Democrats shedding 20 percent of Republican House seats in 2025 while Republicans failed to flip a single Democratic seat. “It’s not going well for the Trump party,” Reifovitz added.
