Child of Dust: One Man’s Search for His Father After the Vietnam War | Documentary

Everything changes when a 55-year-old veteran of the Vietnam War miraculously discovers his American father.

Sang is one of the millions of unwanted and discriminated children left behind by American soldiers after the Vietnam War. When his lifelong dream of finding his father comes true, Sang’s only goal is to meet his ailing father and break the cycle of war trauma that has plagued him for generations.

After a long and challenging journey, Sang is finally able to make it to the US, but without his wife, daughter and beloved granddaughter. Reuniting with his father is a healing experience for both, but not an easy one. 50 years have passed since the last American soldier left Vietnam, but many wounds remain open.

Child of Dust is a documentary by Veronika Mliczewska.
