A Russian citizen has been sentenced to life imprisonment in Finland for war crimes in Ukraine.
The Halesinki district court, the capital of Finland, on Friday ruled that the then Russian nationalist semi -fanatic group Rusch’s commander Voeslav Tordon had participated in four different war crimes against the Ukrainian soldiers during the battle in East Ukraine in 2014. The fifth charged was rejected under the fifth charges.
Torden was arrested in Finland in the summer of 223, with Russia’s 5,340-kilometer (832-mile) boundary. In this case, the Ukrainian battalion soldiers in Luhansk region have an armed attack.
According to the court, Torden was involved in the murder of a soldier, among other things. He also took abusive photos of the deceased, which he later broadcast.
Ukraine is the ‘key milestone’
According to Finnish Broadcaster Yele, a 38 -year -old defendant rejected the allegations in the court. His lawyer Hiki Lampela told Finnish media that Torden was surprised by the decision and would appeal.
This is the first case in which the Finish court has blamed someone for the war in Ukraine, said Yele.
Ukraine’s prosecutor’s office welcomed the court’s decision as an important step to blame the court’s decision as “an important stage to blame the criminals of serious violations of the international humanitarian law.”
“Ukraine is committed to working with partners around the world to ensure that war criminals will not have any punitive action,” said a social media posted.
Russia criticized the decision and the lawsuit against his citizen was “shameful” and politically inspired.
“The outcome of the finish justice system does not provoke anything except severe outcry and anger. A Russian embassy in Finland said in a statement that the Helsinki District Court’s prejudice, who openly punished the Russian citizen.
