Robert Pattinson confirmed that he is ready to take on one of his most dynamic roles yet Dune: Part Three.
Pattinson, 39, reflected on his busy schedule while filming several projects back-to-back in a joint interview with die my love to cost Jennifer Lawrence with IndieWire on Monday, November 3. That’s when he let slip some details about the filming of the next installment of Dune.
“It’s actually really nice. When I was doing it dune it was so hot in the desert that I couldn’t question anything,” he said of being exhausted from work at times. “And it was so relaxing, like my brain wasn’t actually working, I didn’t have a single brain cell working. And I was just listening Denis (Villeneuve): ‘Whatever you want!’”
Pattison was also asked if she will be playing a “villain role” in the film, to which she simply replied, “Yes.” Lawrence, 35, told Pattinson: “You’re a busy guy. You just shot it, you got it coming.”
Several media outlets first reported in April that Pattinson was eyeing the role of Scytale in Dune: Part Threebased on 1969 Frank Herbert novel Dune Messiah. At the time, an offer had yet to be extended to Pattinson, for The Hollywood Reporter. However, fans were quick to jump in on the casting speculation, with photos of Pattinson arriving to film Dune: Part Three in Budapest running X in July.
“What a legendary run of movies Pattinson is about to continue. 🔥,” one X user wrote in a post on the platform in July, while a second user said: “Can’t wait to see him on the dune!! He’s a great actor and one of my favorites.”
Villeneuve’s iteration of the franchise began with 2021’s Dune starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Jason Momoa i Javier Bardem. Dune: second part followed in 2024, with cast additions included Austin Butler, Florence Pugh i Christopher Walken.

“There have only been two films, well three now, where I wanted to make a sequel: the apes movies, Sicario i dune“, he said variety in March 2022. “I saw both apes movies at the cinema and I thought what I could do with mo-cap was so amazing. If I could do it with a monkey face, then I can get a performance out of it too.”
Dune: Part Three will be released in theaters late next year. The twilight the actor also noted that he has another film, Prime timewhich will be released in 2026. The crime drama is directed by Lance Oppenheim and also stars Phoebe Bridgers, Merritt Weaver, Sean Bridgers, Skyler Gisondo i Matthew Maher.
“Money problems?” Lawrence jokingly asked Pattinson when he spoke about Primetime, to which he replied, “The strike has really affected me! I’m not going to let that happen ever again.” (The 2023 WGA strike lasted 148 days as screenwriters pushed for better AI pay, waste and regulation, halting Hollywood productions before reaching a tentative deal.)
