Netflix is reportedly in talks to license video podcasts distributed by iHartMedia, according to BloombergSee rank-. iHeartMedia’s podcast portfolio includes shows like “Breakfast Club,” “Las Culturisistas,” “Good podcet,” and “things you need to know.”
Netflix is seeking exclusivity, meaning that video podcasts licensed from iHartMedia cannot be uploaded to YouTube. It should be noted that if the deal doesn’t work out, iHartMedia may not license its podcast catalog to streaming services.
The news comes a few weeks after Netflix signed a similar agreement with Spotify That will bring a curated selection of sports, culture, lifestyle, and true crime podcasts from Spotify Studios and Ringer to Netflix.
Under the Stotify Deal, podcasts available on Netflix will be removed from YouTube but remain on Spotify. Some of spotify’s biggest shows, including the “Joe Rogan experience,” will remain on YouTube.
