It seems that joe jonas may have been bitten by the love bug from the trailer for the upcoming Jonas Brothers holiday movie, A very Jonas Christmas movie.
The teaser, which was released on Monday, November 3, sees Joe, 36, tell the brothers Nick i Kevin Jonas who “ran into” Lucy, a character played by the film Chloe Bennet with whom he appeared to have a romantic history. (Joe, Kevin, 37, and Nick, 33, are playing enhanced versions of themselves in the film.)
“We had a hookup,” Joe confesses to his brothers about Lucy, while Kevin asks, “How many hookups have you had this month?” and Nick quips, “Joe can’t count that high.”
While Joe is single in the film, Nick and Kevin are happily married to their wives, Priyanka Chopra Jonas i Danielle Jonasrespectively. In fact, both Priyanka, 43, and Danielle, 39, make cameos in the trailer as they chat with their husbands via FaceTime and discuss their Christmas plans.
Things get a little chaotic when the Jonas Brothers get stuck in London two days before Christmas and are determined to do whatever it takes to get home in time to celebrate with their loved ones.
“I can’t miss Christmas,” Kevin declares after the plane they were supposed to board is struck by lightning and shot down.
“What an incredibly unique thing about you, Kevin,” says Nick sarcastically. “No one can miss Christmas. Have you ever seen a Christmas movie? It’s the whole plot of the movie.”
After rushing to catch a train from London to Paris, Nick’s navigation misdirects the trio and they end up in Amsterdam. Finally, they try to take matters into their own hands and fly a plane themselves. “Guys, I got this, I know Glen Powell from Top Gun” Joe says after climbing into the pilot’s seat and taking the wheel. Despite his confidence, the plane makes a crash landing in the woods where the brothers encounter a pack of hungry wolves.
“When a series of travel disasters strand the Jonas Brothers in London just days before December 25, the brothers launch a whirlwind cross-Atlantic to reach their loved ones in New York,” reads the official synopsis. “Every mishap is met with signature sibling banter and show-stopping musical numbers, turning their quest into a feel-good show filled with comedy, camaraderie, and holiday cheer.”
Long before Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas called it quits, she apparently had a special bond with her family, including sisters-in-law Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Danielle Jonas. “It’s also nice to have built-in girlfriends, who are really cool, who I can hang out with and talk about a lot, (…)
In addition to the Jonas Brothers and Bennet, 33, the film also appears Billie Lourd, Laverne Cox, KJ What, Andrew Barth Feldman, Andrea Martin, Kenny G, Justin Tranter, Randall Park i Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
“The Jonas Brothers are making it a family affair, with some special cameos from the Jonas family,” Disney said in a press release.
Fans enjoyed seeing the trio in action in the trailer, with one person commenting under the video on YouTube: “Looks like they had fun doing this. Can’t wait to see it.”
“The acting skills of all three have improved a lot since then Camp Rock and the Jonas series,” wrote a second person. “They’re just right. I hope it gets its own soundtrack because the music sounds great.”
A very Jonas Christmas movie premieres on Disney+ and Hulu on Friday, November 14.
