Kai, 18, is the eldest son Donald Trump Jr. i Vanessa Trump and the eldest granddaughter of President Donald Trump. She is also an avid golfer, and will compete on the LPGA Tour for the first time this month. The high school senior, who will attend the University of Miami starting next year, will play the tournament Nov. 10-16 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.
His participation in the tournament has drawn some criticism, particularly as some have questioned whether his recent golf results merit an invitation. (Kai scored 52 over par at the Junior Invitational in March of this year.) However, Ricky Laskythe LPGA’s head of business and tourism operations, has defended the invitation.
Addressing the criticism on Tuesday, Oct. 28, Lasky told The Associated Press, “Sponsor invitations are an important way to highlight emerging talent and bring new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA. Kai’s broad following and reach are helping introduce golf to new audiences, especially among younger fans. We’re excited to see her take the next step in her journey.”

Kai is the eldest son of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, who share five children in total, including sons Donald III, Tristan and Spencer, as well as daughter Chloe.
Although Kai was born in New York on May 12, 2007, she and her family moved to Jupiter, Florida when she was 13 years old. He is currently a student at Benjamin School and will graduate in 2026.

She continued, “When I made the honor roll, he printed it out to show his friends how proud he was of me… He calls me in the middle of the school day to ask how my golf game is going, and he tells me all about his, but then I have to remind him that I’m at school and I’ll have to call him later. When we play golf together, if I don’t know his equipment, I won’t know. He’s always surprised that I don’t let him get to me, but I have to remind him that I’m also a Trump.”
He played a role in his mother’s relationship with Tiger Woods
Kai is an accomplished golfer who has played in the Nicklaus Junior Championship and the Dustin Johnson Junior World Championship. He also played in the Junior Tournament at Sage Valley Golf Club in Graniteville vs Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie, and his passion for golf played a major role in his mother’s relationship with the retired legend.
According to sources close to the family people in March 2025, both Charlie and Kai are very talented in the sport, and this helped connect their parents, who have been dating since Thanksgiving last year. “Their kids go golfing and they’re both very disciplined about the sport. They have that in common,” the source explained.
Kai will play her first LPGA tour this month
