New York Giants and rising star Cam Tax House was carted off the field after suffering a serious ankle injury during the second quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, October 26.
The rookie tried to catch a pass on 2nd down and on a 16 play, but twisted while being tackled. As a result, his ankle got stuck between the field and Zack Baunthe Eagles linebacker who was making the tackle.
As Skattebo, 23, was sitting on the field after the play, teammates immediately called for medical help. His right ankle was sitting out of place, turned to the right.
The medical cart entered the field as Skattebo’s ankle was airlifted and he was taken off the field. Skattebo was cheered by his teammates as he was carted off the field and was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game.
Skattebo greeted the crowd at Lincoln Financial Field, which gave him a standing ovation as he was escorted off the field for immediate medical attention.
According to ESPN Adam SchefterFiscal heritage suffered a sprained ankle and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The extent of his injury has not yet been determined.
“I feel absolutely terrible for the young man,” the Giants head coach said Brian Daboll he told reporters after the game. “Obviously I saw it. It looked bad. You feel for anybody on your team that goes down and has a really bad injury. And I feel, and I know the players feel the same way about Skat.”
Skattebo’s teammates showed support as he received medical attention on the field, although some had to walk away from the horrific injury.

Immediately after the game was stopped, as soon as Dart realized the extent of the injury, he turned around, yelling expletives and kneeling out of respect for his teammate.
“I was devastated,” Dart told reporters after the game. “That’s my guy. To see him go down and react to what happened, it sucks. It’s the worst part of this game.”
As Skattebo was being transported, Dart made sure to give his teammate one of his handshakes that the two usually do to celebrate.
“I know (Dart) is close to Skat,” Daboll said. “I know to see Skat go down like that and the injury he had, that’s tough on everyone involved.
He added: “It’s a contact sport and unfortunately there are injuries.”
Skattebo and Dart have been two of the most electric rookies in the league lately. Despite a 2-6 start to the season, the two have shown fire on the field together since both assumed starting roles midway through the season.
Skattebo, in particular, has been a lightning rod in a team that hasn’t had much to cheer about this season. To go along with his seven touchdowns this year, Skattebo brings an energy off the field that has taken over the team and the league in general.
He scored a touchdown earlier in the game before his injury, on an 18-yard pass from Dart.
So far, he has accumulated 398 rushing yards and 189 receiving yards in his rookie season.
The Eagles beat the Giants 38-20.
