The next stop at Yellowstone universe is a starring spin-off Luke Grimescharacter, Kayce Dutton.

Yellowstonewhich premiered in 2018, introduced viewers to the fictional Dutton family, owners of Montana’s largest ranch. After finding success at Paramount, creator Taylor Sheridan grew the Yellowstone world with prequels 1883 and 1923.

CBS ordered Y: Marshalsthe next program following Kayce as he leaves the Yellowstone Ranch to join the US Marshals, after Yellowstone concludes in December 2024.

“Cowboys don’t say goodbye, they say see you later,” Grimes wrote via Instagram when the exciting news was announced.

When will ‘Y: Marshals’ premiere on CBS?

The long-awaited series will premiere in the spring of 2026 on CBS as a midseason replacement. It will air Sunday nights at 9pm ET.

Spencer Hudnut, who previously worked SEAL teamserves as the show’s writer, executive producer and showrunner. Taylor Sheridan is also an executive producer on the project, and CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach previously said in a statement, “In terms of Taylor’s involvement, we’re still early in the process. He’s a very busy guy, but we’ll take what we can get.”

What is the Spinoff about?

According to the official synopsis, Y: Marshals follows Kayce who leaves “herding life behind to join an elite unit” of the US Marshals. As he “combines his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring justice to Montana, where he and his comrades must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”

Who makes up the cast?

Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, Brett Cullen and Logan Marshall Green join Grimes in the new series.

Kebbel, Santos, and Means will play Belle, Andrea, and Miles, respectively. They are all members of the US Marshals, while Cullen plays Harry Gifford, the head of the US Marshals in Montana.
