“When we bought this farm in 2016 we did not know what God had in the store … We only knew we wanted to be good shepherds on earth and return to life in life,” he said in a statement through the farm’s website. “After years of renovations and prayers, we have decided to open the farm and invite people to unite us to raise money and awareness for different charitable organizations through special events that we have here. We welcome you to our house and we hope that our farm will give you many good memories with family and friends.”

The La Granja website recalls the story of Charles Abner Scott, who came to Tellico Plains in the 1890’s and helped develop the city.
“He sold or made a large amount of 15,000 hectares to expand the city,” says the website. “He recruited the Stokely company and financed a local school. Its progressive experimentation with lime fertilizers, crops and livestock breeds influenced regional cultivation techniques.”
The synopsis continues: “and built the impressive neo-classical revival mansion between 1908-1912, which is the central work of current property. This elegant house, which is now part of the Historical National Register, was thoroughly rehabilitated by Jill and David, who currently reside on the Scott Menion farm.”
