This is impressive netflix hits mid-January with a slew of very cool movies that have high Rotten Tomatoes scores.
Most newcomers landed below the 90 percent markbut it’s such an eclectic bunch that moviegoers of all styles should be happy.

5. ‘Stone Cold Fox’ (2025)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 60 percent
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Shipka Kiernan Shipka returns to Netflix this month with a starring role in the action thriller Stone cold fox. Shipka plays Fox, a fugitive who finds herself romantically entangled with a drug dealer named Goldie (Krysten Ritter). Fox is fine with their arrangement until he sees that his sister, Spooky (Bluesy Burke), seems to have also run away from home, only to be kidnapped on the street.
Fox will do anything to save her sister, even if it means stabbing Goldie in the back and going off on her own. It’s a dangerous path he’s embarked on and Fox may not be able to carry out his mission.

4. “Becky” (2020)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 72 percent
comedian Kevin James it has a rare evil twist Beckybut the movie belongs Lulu Wilsonwho plays the titular 13-year-old girl. Becky feels blindsided when her widowed father, Jeff (Joel McHale), announces that he will marry his girlfriend, Kayla (Amanda Brugel), and carrying their son, Ty (Isaiah Rockcliffe), also in the family.
After Becky runs off to process the news, her family is taken hostage by Dominick (James) and his men. These people are willing to murder Becky’s family to get what they want, but they don’t know what they’ve let go. Becky has a killer instinct no one expected, and she’s about to leave Die Hard about the punks who threatened his family.

3. ‘Bone Lake’ (2025)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 83 percent
The erotic thriller genre collides with a horror story Bone Lakea film that was only briefly released in theaters last year. Maddie Hasson i Marco Pigossi Star as a couple, Sage and Diego, who rented a beautiful vacation home near scenic Bone Lake. However, their plan for some solo time is thwarted when another partner, Will (Alex Roe) and Cin (Andra Nechita), also has a double reservation for the home.
Diego and Sage happily decide to let Will and Cin stay with them, and their kindness is repaid with the ultimate test of their relationship. Will and Cin seem determined to seduce Sage and Diego, respectively. But if you want to know how this turns into a horror story, you just have to watch the movie.

2. “28 Years Later” (2025)

28 Years Later is the only movie on this list that isn’t new to Netflix this month, but we’re posting it here because its sequel, 28 years later: The temple of bonesis currently showing in cinemas. director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland reunited for this sequel to their previous film, 28 days laterthat redefined zombies on the big screen in the 21st century.
As the title suggests, nearly three decades have passed since England fell to the rabies virus that transformed most of the survivors into bloodthirsty zombies. Just outside the British Isles, Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) brings his son, Spike (Alfie Williams), on the continent as a rite of passage. The infected are still on the prowl, but the real threat to this father-son duo may come from the survivors who have lived among the raging zombies for decades.

1. “Licorice Pizza” (2021)

Last week, director Paul Thomas Anderson received multiple Oscar nominations for his latest film, The Leonardo DiCaprio action comedy One battle after another. In a case of fortuitous timing, Netflix is about to stream one of Anderson’s most recent films, Licorice pizza.

The story begins in 1973, as a high school student, Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman), falls in love with Alana Kane (Alana Haim), a young woman who is 10 years older than her. Despite Gary’s very obvious desire to have a romance with her, Alana maintains a friendship and bond with him. It also seems that his attraction to her is not entirely one-sided, but the age difference between them may be what prevents Gary and Alana from truly being a couple.
