parasite was the first South Korean film to take home Best Picture at the Oscars, while also landing Bong Joon Ho the Academy for the best director. The film follows Kim Ki-taek (Song Kang-ho) and his wife, Chung-sook (Jang Hye-jin), as well as their two sons, Kim Ki-woo (Choi Woo-shik) and Ki-jun (Park So-dam).
The entire Kim family is struggling financially, at least until Ki-woo finds a job with the wealthy Park Dong-ik (Lee Sun-kyun) and Choi Yeon-gyo (Cho Yeo-jeong), and their children. Ki-woo helps the rest of his family to fake their identities and gain employment with the Park family. This gives the Kim family a taste of the good life, and they will go to great lengths to protect her secret to make sure she can be theirs for as long as possible.
