peacock subscribers have good reason to be happy with the streamer’s February movie selections.
Two of this month’s new additions were nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.
Both movies did Watch with us‘ roundup of the three best Peacock films to watch this weekend.
Our picks include a love story that captured the nation’s imagination in 1990, a gripping drama and an underrated action flick.
‘Ghost’ (1990)
The naked gun i airplane co-director, Jerry Zuckerbroke out of the weirdo comedy genre with a supernatural romance film called ghost. This film was a box office hit in 1990 and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture and an award for Best Supporting Actress for Whoopi Goldberg.
Patrick Swayze stars Sam Wheat, a man who is murdered in front of his girlfriend, Molly Jensen (Demi Moore). Sam may be dead, but he has unfinished business in this world when his killer is linked to someone he considered a friend. To warn Molly that she is in danger, Sam recruits a fake psychic, Oda Mae Brown (Goldberg), to be her medium. Oda never showed any real supernatural gifts until she met Sam. Now, he won’t stop tormenting her unless she agrees to help him save Molly.

‘Fences’ (2016)
Denzel Washington stepped on the director’s chair to accommodate August Wilsonthe play you closewhich was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. Washington also plays the lead role of Troy Maxson, a former Negro League baseball player who remains bitter about missing out on a chance to play in the Major Leagues. Troy takes some of that frustration out on his son, Cory Maxson (Jovan Adepo), who is prohibited from playing sports.
Troy is married to Rose Lee Maxson (Viola Davis), and it doesn’t make it easy for her to love him. His broken relationship with Cory is just one of the reasons Troy’s choices lead him to drift away from Rose while living under the same roof. There may not even be a way for Troy to restore his relationships with his wife or son.

‘Enemy of the State’ (1998)
Will Smith he was still peaking as an action star when he debuted Tony Scott‘s Enemy of the State. It may not be a Best Picture nominee like the other two films on this list, but it’s a great action thriller that’s worth your time.
Smith plays Robert Clayton Dean, a happily married attorney who still works alongside his former flame, Rachel Banks (Lisa Bonet). A chance meeting with an old friend leaves Robert with evidence that could expose the deputy director of the National Security Agency, Thomas Reynolds (Jon Voight) as a murderer.
To find this evidence, Reynolds systematically destroys Robert’s life and reputation. His only hope of getting it all back is Edward Lyle (Gene Hackman), an enigmatic former NSA agent with close ties to Rachel. Even with Edward’s expertise, Robert can only hide from Reynolds’ resources for so long. If he wants his life back, Robert will have to fight for it.
